Mark 6:22-23 - And when Herodias' daughter herself came in and danced, and pleased Herod and those who sat with him, the king said to the girl, "Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you." He also swore to her, "Whatever you ask me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom."
And now, Admonition, brought to you by the Collierville Church of Christ.
We read in Mark Chapter six verse 22 and when Herodias' daughter herself came in and danced and pleased Herod in those who sat with him, the king said to the girl, ask me whatever you want and I will give it to you. He also swore to her, whatever you ask me, I will give it to you up to half of my kingdom.
This lustful act where Herod watched her Herodias' his daughter dance. The indication is this dance wasn't anything like wholesome. It most likely involved in modesty and lustful actions. Lasciviousness is what the Bible would call it. Lust leads you to greater sin. It will lead you down a path of destruction. We need to put aside lust. Paul said, flee youthful lusts, but follow after righteousness.
